And when search engines realized this, they started looking for the need of the users. They started creating algorithms for the help of users to get in one click what they are looking for.
There are two ways to optimize a search engine: search engine optimization, & search engine management.
What is SEO (What is Search Engine Optimization)?
From the word SEO which stands for search engine optimization, you can understand that we are going to optimize a website in such a way that search engine would place your website on the top ranks of the search engine ranking page. While a search engine management we will manage our website to rank on the first number on the search ranking page.
Let’s understand the Search Engine Optimisation. SEO is the key for a website to start ranking in the search engines. Search Engines use an algorithm to bring the search result more accurate to the users to need. So they update these algorithms periodically. In SEO, you optimize a website to get in the Search ranking page (SERP). Now, the question that arises is “how do we optimize a website according to the algorithm.” Well, that’s a fair question. The answer is pretty simple “by making the website as per by the requirements of the search engine you will be able to optimize a website.” And to know the requirements for the optimization of the website you have to go through the Google algorithm updates. These are the algorithms that are developed by Google and is meant to be the standard algorithm for the Search Engines. In search optimization, we make changes on the website. These changes will be made on our website and the search engine bots and Google bots will crawl over the website and then if they find a website to be appropriate for some content, they will start ranking your page for the terms that you have included in your website. These terms are known as Keywords. Keywords are the terms that you have the business for. These practices are unpaid or free that you change on your website to get it into the competition of your business.
What is SEM (Search Engine Management)?
Now, let’s get on with the Search Engine Management. SEM is the process where we manage our content and our website on the search engines. Alike an advertisement in the newspaper, Search Engines also display ads, in the searches. When someone searches terms around the keywords on your website, if you are running an advertisement for your website on the search engine it will reach to your audience, automatically. To get started for Search Engine Management, your basic requirement is to have a website that should be optimized and quality content. You can set a daily budget limit. After spending that much your ads will stop automatically in this way you can manage your budget for the month. In Search Engine, we start to manage the website in the search engines.
So the difference between Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Management are totally apart from each other. One optimizes the website other displays the website. SEO is Organic and SEM is paid. SEO is steady and SEM is inconsistent. SEO is dependent on the factors that support the website but SEM is totally paid so it is independent.
